Description

Works within the local market center team and assists with operations.
Coordinates the implementation of emergency practices for all facilities that meets regulatory requirements of the Canadian.
Environmental Protections Act (CEPA). Ensures all emergency response plans are updated and submitted for update.
Conducts annual site inspections to ensure readiness for anhydrous ammonia (NH3) season.
Provides coaching on environmental and safety codes and standards and facility requirements to meet codes.
Provides technical expertise when required on anhydrous ammonia issues (NH3) and concerns.
Inspects and repairs NH3 equipment to ensure the company is in regulatory compliance.
Assesses, coordinates and conducts testing of nurse tanks and transport delivery.
Develops and provides agri-products safety and regulatory training such as forklift, transportation of dangerous goods, safe work permits, stacking and storing, spill cleanup, skid steer loader, NH3 emergency response, ammonia handling, respirator fit testing and SCBA, fall arrest and fire extinguishers.
Assists in the development and delivery of producer training programs and provides community awareness as required.
Maintains database information for all NH3 equipment.
Qualifications:
Five years of experience with anhydrous ammonia plus one year experience in the repair of anhydrous ammonia equipment.
A Grade XII or recognized equivalent.
Must have a valid Ammonia Safety Counsel (ASC) Safety controller certificate.
Excellent oral, written and presentation/training skills.
Computer competent with the ability to use word processing and presentation applications
Must possess a class 3A or higher drivers license.
Ability and willingness to travel.
