The Salvation Army Gemma House is seeking an
energetic and team oriented youth worker to fill a permanent full-time position.
Candidates must be prepared to work with
high risk youth in a dynamic and at times
stressful environment. Applicants will be required to work primarily evening, weekend and statutory holiday shifts, although occasional overnight and/or day shifts may be required. Candidates must possess a valid driver's licence, a current CPR-1ST Aide certificate and will be required to take Therapeutic Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention Training and other training as required. Successful applicants will
also be required to present a recent Criminal
Record check, a recent Driving Abstract and have
their name submitted for a Child Abuse Registry
check.
Gemma House provides a protective model of care
for high risk adolescent girls between 12 and 15. Youth workers are responsible for the day to day care and well-being of the youth, which is
achieved through therapeutic activity and
relationship building.
The wage is $19.75 to $21.75 per hour D.O.Q and
experience.
