The NARF Field Research Agronomist will develop and coordinate field research and demonstration projects, and ensure results are transferred to producers and industry agronomists under the direction of the NARF Research Manager.
The candidate must have a Bachelor of Science degree in crop, plant, or soil science, agronomy, or related discipline (Masters of Science in an asset) and must be eligible to become a professional agrologist.
He/She must demonstrate ability in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, understand statistical analysis, and have strong written and verbal communication skills. The candidate must have the ability to work independently and team environment, and have strong leadership and time management skills.
Knowledge and experience of field research with the ability to operate small plot equipment and a valid driver's licence is required. The ideal candidate will also have extensive knowledge of farming practices in the prairie region and appreciate soil and forages agronomy.
