Description

Wanuskewin Heritage Park is accepting applications for temporary full time Interpretive Guides from May through August reporting to the Visitor Services Manager.  The position will include the following accountabilities:
    Contributes to a welcoming environment for all Wanuskewin visitors and guests with a focus on service excellence
    Ensures park visitors are informed and equipped with information about trail routes, programs, regulations, and issues or concerns related to health and safety.
    Accurately track all visitors into the park POS/database
    Provides support around all client service tasks and initiatives.
    Participates in the development of non-personal interpretive products such as brochures, newsletters and exhibits
    Recommends and actively supports the development and implementation of all programming including demonstrations, workshops, interpretation of Plains Indian Culture, natural history and ecological features, exhibits, displays and artifacts.
    Research heritage presentation topics and themes; identify audience requirements
    Determine and apply a variety of heritage presentation and interpretation techniques in the development of meaningful, captivating and enjoyable presentations, non-personal interpretive products and demonstrations
    Participates in the delivery of programming through interpretation, storytelling, dancing, drumming and singing both on-site and off
    Adapts presentations to meet specific audience requirements.
    Collaborates across the organization to ensure quality client oriented services are provided that meet the overall organizational direction.
    Ensure safety compliance internally and externally with visitors and guests and adherence to WHP policy and procedures
