EYES (Educating Youth in Engineering and Science) is a not for profit organization that exists to spark curiosity and develop lasting interest in science, engineering and technology. We engage children in grades one through eight with exciting, activity-based, fun-filled learning experiences. EYES reaches youth through in-school workshops, summer camps, and community events. In 2014, EYES reached over 13,000 youth in southern Saskatchewan.
Duties and Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with the EYES team to develop and deliver exemplary programming for youth in grades 1 to 8
Function as a role model as someone who is interested in engineering, science and technology
Develop positive relationships with campers, parents, teachers and staff
Routinely work overtime hours as required
May & June
Prepare exciting, activity-based, educational projects for the summer camp program
Deliver engaging engineering and science workshops by travelling around southern Saskatchewan and visiting elementary classrooms. You will return to Regina most evenings.
Attend the overnight EYES staff retreat May 6 - 8
July & August
Lead a group of 10-12 campers through the EYES summer camp program
Work in a variety of EYES programs including EYES Jr., EYES Camp, E-Design, Satellite programs, All-Girls Camp, and outreach initiatives to underserved populations.
Organize and prepare the activities for delivery of the camp program
Qualifications
Completion of at least one year of university education
Experience working with children/youth
Willingness to improve ones background knowledge of scientific concepts
Strong organizational skills and work ethic
Background in engineering, science or education is preferred
Experience with underserved populations is an asset but not required
Valid Saskatchewan drivers license
