Description

We are currently looking for motivated individuals who have experience and excellent knowledge of Auto Body Painting within the commercial industry.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent communication skills, as well as the knowledge, skill and ability to carry out the requirements of the job, and hold a valid Class 5 (or greater class) drivers' license.

The candidate will also demonstrate:

-Knowledge and skills of the use of tools, materials and equipment of the trade, including the use of a conventional or airless spray gun.
-Knowledge and experience working on PME and large fleet vehicles.
-Ability to mix, blend and colour match paint.
-Good colour vision and an eye for detail.
-Ability to operate equipment to clean, wash, strip, sand, remove corrosion, fill cavities and dents or otherwise prepare items for application of paints, or other protective or decorative coatings.
-Ability to mask or tape off details and components to avoid contamination / over spray.
-Clean and maintain painting equipment.
-Ability to check for runs or sags in the paint to ensure a quality product.

Position is subject to a significant amount of standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling, reaching, handling, pushing, pulling, awkward or cramped positions while working. There is also exposure to dust and fumes, and may be use of dangerous chemical substances.

This position also includes unscheduled overtime, rotating shifts and/or night shifts.
