Description

Working with children ages 6 wks to 12 yrs of age,  Early Childhood Educators lead children in activities to stimulate and develop their intellectual, physical and emotional growth.

Formal Early Childhood Education training is an asset, but can also be aquired on the job.

 - Plan and develop child care and nursery school programs
 - Assess the developmental level of children
 - Knowledge of licensing regulations

 - Assist in housekeeping duties
Early Childhood Educator Assistant Skills
 - Prepare craft materials and assist children to use them
 - Prepare and serve snacks
 - Observe children and report on observations to supervisor
 - Guide children in development of proper eating, dressing and toilet habits
 - Discuss progress and problems of children at staff meetings
 - Conduct and monitor activity programs designed for young children
 - Bathe, diaper and feed infants and toddlers
 - Arrange transition periods such as lunch and rest for children
