As product owner of the retail credit asset class, this role will lead and be accountable to generate investment opportunities for margin enhancement, lead residential and retail credit acquisitions from third party asset suppliers, and maintain key external relationships. This position will further expand residential mortgage offerings and other retail credit products as well as pursue active growth targets on the residential sell side. In addition to creating considerable value for credit unions, this role will also be responsible for generating fee revenue and interest income for the organization.
Key Outcomes:
providing specialized knowledge of both residential mortgage credit and alternate asset classes widely traded in the Canadian economy
increasing residential mortgage and retail credit sales/purchases for the credit union system, within their investment and liquidity requirements
providing detailed financial management concepts and balance sheet management strategies to clients through workshops, conferences and one-on-one presentations
underwriting insured multi-family and social housing credit applications funded through CMHCs Securitization Programs
developing strong working relationships with credit unions, third party suppliers, and capital markets contacts through continuous and meaningful exchanges
understanding credit union business drivers, system trends and providing value-add market expertise to improve the credit union profitability, liquidity and investment opportunities
Qualifications:
University degree in finance, business or a related field.
Achievement of (or demonstrated commitment towards the completion of) a professional designation such as a CFA, CIM, CBV or CPA.
5 - 7 years of experience in retail credit, portfolio management and/or securities industry
