Description

Lumsden Supermarket is independently owned, a progressive business with complete grocery, produce, meat, bakery, ready to eat foods.  The Manager works collaboratively with the owners to ensure overall operation and success of the store.  Duties include:
* Ensure exceptional customer service, fast and friendly checkout, accurate transactions
* Order accurately and manage appropriate inventory levels to maximize sale opportunity
* Ensure overall store appearance, product alignment, labeling, suitable placement of displays, cleanliness, equipment maintenance
* Schedule staff, ensure there is always proper coverage
* Provide training and ongoing coaching for staff success, manage and deal with performance issues
* Ensure a healthy safe workplace, foster a team approach that strengthens recruitment and retention strategies
* Work with vendors, provide merchandising direction, process credits, submit reports, implement marketing programs & initiatives
* Minimize shrink by monitoring dates and proper rotation
* Maintain POS
* Develop and implement effective Store policies and procedures
* Take and fill special and large customer orders
* Lead the leadership team to meet customer needs and store goals/objectives.  
The manager will demonstrate a positive attitude, be a respected role model and provide consistent strong leadership that develops and motivates staff to meet sales expectations.  Candidates must possess retail and supervisory experience, excellent written & oral communication skills, time management and organization skills, conflict resolution and stress management skills, problem solving and decision making skills, high attention to detail, believe in work ethics that make a commitment to the company, recognize the importance of ongoing learning, availability to work a varied schedule, physical ability to handle the daily store tasks (standing, heavy lifting)
