Located in Regina and reporting to the Director, Petroleum Facilities, responsibilities for this position include the following:
1.Act as the primary resource for construction supervisors and construction specialist in resolving construction issues related with the installation of Petroleum Facilities supplied equipment, contractors, unionized road staff, drafting and consultant workmanship, standard documents and specifications, procedures and/or safety concerns.
2.Collaborate with the Planning Team and assist with site supervision of general contractors, various sub-trades and unionized road staff in the absence of the dedicated construction supervisors and/or construction specialist. Establish a relationship with the Retail prior to construction, maintain contact throughout the project and provide continued support during the first year of operation (warranty period).
3.Assign projects and supervise the work of construction supervisors and construction specialist that manage the new construction or renovation of petroleum facilities (gas bars, convenience stores, car washes, and cardlocks & bulk plants).
4.Assist in researching, evaluating and implementing new health & safety programs, petroleum equipment, techniques and standards. Negotiate directly or direct others in negotiating with local authorities, suppliers, consultants, sub trades or specialty contractors.
The successful candidate will require a Degree in Engineering along with 10-12 years of commercial construction and/or project management experience. A P.Eng designation is required.
