Description

Lac La Ronge Indian Band (LLRIB) is accepting applications for a Recreation Worker position based at the Jonas Roberts Memorial Community Centre (JRMCC) in La Ronge.

Position Summary:
The JRMCC Recreation Worker is responsible for planning, developing and coordinating programs related to sports, recreation and cultural events for youth in the community.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Establish a year plan of sports, recreation and cultural programs/events for youth, adults & Elders;
- Promote and advertise sports and recreational events;
- Provide assistance and support in organizing youth leagues;
- Organize and implement monthly gym events schedule;
- Enforce rules and regulations of JRMCC facilities in order to maintain discipline and ensure safety;
- Make requests for new equipment, supplies or services, as they are needed;
- Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings and report to Facility Supervisor.

Minimum Requirements:
- Certificate in Recreation, Leisure Management or Sports Administration;
- Previous experience in the Sports and Recreation field;
- Minimum Level I Coaching Certificate or be willing to obtain one in a timely fashion;
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required;
- Must be able to work with minimal supervision;
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively;
- Valid WHMIS Certification;
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certificate
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License.
