The YTC Project Safe Haven is seeking one (1) highly motivated individual to fill the position of Family Violence Outreach Worker.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
* Provide Family Violence awareness information
* Inform and educate agencies about Family violence in communities
* Supply skills and training to increase the number of people who can effectively respond to individual or family needs
* Maintain current records and confidential reports regarding clients
* Develop and use tools to gather information to determine which areas require immediate attention
* Supply information and collect data to prepare reports, develop models
* Lead discussions, conduct meetings, workshops and seminars relating to family violence prevention
* Promote wellness and healthy lifestyle/relationships
* Motivate community involvement, develop groups, circles in each First Nation
* Create an Aboriginal network that supports the exchange of knowledge and contributes to increasing awareness and understanding family violence
* The family Violence outreach worker must have a certificate or diploma in the human services field specialized training in counselling or an equivalent combination of experience and training
* Must posses the skills and abilities to team-build and network
* Must be able to empathize with clients on a non-judgmental basis
* Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Must be able to work with minimal supervision
