Events Specialist

Saskatchewan Division | Permanent Full-Time | Location: Regina

The Opportunity:

Reporting to the Manager, Revenue Development, the Events Specialist is responsible for the delivery of The Arthritis Societys signature and educational events including the first annual Arthritis Conference in Regina, The Walk to Fight Arthritis, Juvenile Arthritis Family Day, Rock the Joint, Education Forums and third party fundraising events across the division. This position will be a participant in all revenue development activities whenever possible and provide support to the Executive Director, Saskatchewan as required.

Required Skills and Experience:

The successful candidate will possess a university degree or diploma in event planning, fundraising or a relevant discipline with a minimum of two years conference/event planning and/or fundraising experience within a fast-paced environment. Previous sales experience would be an asset. He or she will be highly computer literate with excellent Microsoft Office and Raisers Edge skills. Experience working within a budget and securing sponsorship for events is essential. He/she is of high energy, enthusiastic and proactive with demonstrated success motivating and stewarding volunteers, donors and third party fundraisers. As a fundraiser, the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends will be required.

Our ideal candidate is adaptable with a willingness to be flexible and versatile within a changing work environment while maintaining effectiveness and efficiency. A valid drivers license with the ability to travel will be required.
