Description

The Co-operative Retailing System (CRS) is a unique, multi-billion dollar organization based on the fundamental principles of co-operation. It is comprised of a network of approximately 250 autonomous retail co-operatives across Western Canada along with their branch operations, and Federated Co-operatives Limited (FCL). FCL is the wholesaling/manufacturing arm of the CRS, which provides the retail co-ops with a range of products and services. FCL Home Office invites applications for the position of Intermediate Accountant.

This position is permanent full time.

The Intermediate Accountant is responsible for the following:

1.    Perform monthly petroleum exchange reconciliations.
2.    Invoicing and verification of petroleum exchange and outright contract agreements.
3.    Prepare physical inventory gross margin analysis for some commodities handled in section.
4.    Reconcile intercompany, propane, and other fuel related balance sheet accounts.
5.     Perform month end accounting duties.
5.    Perform insurance accounting duties.
6.    Relieve on other jobs within the section as determined by the Supervisor.
7.    Other duties as assigned.

Successful candidates will have the following:

1.    SIAST ACP classes:  Introductory Accounting (ACCT 122 & 125), Intermediate Accounting I & II (ACCT 220 & 221), Cost Accounting I & II (ACCT 226 & 227), Tax (Tax 221) (or equivalent).
2.    Minimum twenty-one (21) months of related experience in general ledger and/or account reconciliations and/or gross margin analysis work OR/
3.    A two-year Accounting Diploma from a recognized technical institute plus twelve months of related accounting experience.
