Description

Reporting to the Manager of Fleet Services, duties include:
1) Assist in directing, co-ordinating, and supervising manpower and resources required to maintain the Citys fleet.
2) Takes an active role in monitoring and developing operating procedures and programs that provide for efficient operation and maintenance within the Fleet Services department.
3) Takes an active role in hiring, training, appraising, and releasing, as necessary, all assigned staff in accordance with approved personnel policies.
4) Assist with creating and monitoring annual operating budgets, in conjunction with the Manager, Fleet Services.
5) Maintain records of programs and personnel, and assists workers in preparation and accuracy of daily activity cards.
6) Participates and assists in the facilitation of the safety management system

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Certified Journeyman Heavy Duty Technician or Automotive Technician
Hold a valid Class 3 Alberta or Saskatchewan drivers licence.
Previous experience in a Supervisor position is considered an asset.
Ability to plan, direct, and supervise the work staff.
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public, contractors, and other civic staff with a strong focus on customer service.
Customer and results focused.
Must be proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and other computer related tasks.
