POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
As a member of the major projects department, you will report to the chief engineer, electrical.
You will provide electrical engineering and design support in preparation of key electrical engineering project documents including drawings, specifications, data sheets, bid and construction documents. In addition to performing electrical design you will be responsible for scope development, planning, and capital cost estimating aspects of the project and provide technical oversight of the work completed by outside engineering consultants.
You are responsible for ensuring that the design work is done in accordance with Camecos processes, procedures, standards and regulatory requirements. You will also be responsible for developing and integrating electrical design standards for use on all major projects and mentoring junior electrical engineers and designers.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in electrical engineering
Seven to 12 years of progressive experience in field of electrical engineering design in process or mining operations
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
Eligible for registration with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS)
Assets:
Wide knowledge in various fields of electrical engineering, including high and medium voltage installations, electrical system modelling, feasibility studies and the application of CSA M421
Experience in the mining industry
