Verb, a citywide arts and culture magazine in Saskatoon and Regina, is looking for an energetic, positive and creative person to fill the position of graphic designer in our Saskatoon office.
A bit about us: Verb is Saskatchewan's fastest-growing arts, culture, and news magazine, launched by three twenty-somethings in Saskatoon in 2008 and in Regina in late 2011.
A bit about you: We're looking for a smart, self-motivated individual to create eye-catching and functional layouts, ads and supporting material both in print and online, as well as website design and implementation.
The ideal candidate must be highly proficient in Adobe Creative Suite programs (specifically Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Dreamweaver), have a strong grasp of the elements and principles of design, be detail-oriented with a strong working knowledge of typography and grid systems, and have a strong interest in visual problem-solving and marketing.
Knowledge of and experience in web design and coding, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP and ideally WordPress is desirable, although a good attitude towards learning will suffice since we can provide structured training in this area.
We need someone who can problem solve effectively and independently, adapt quickly in a dynamic work environment, and be fearless in thinking of new ideas and offering intelligent opinions and suggestions for improving things at Verb.
Experience or training in effective ad design is a plus, and customer service skills are a must. A design-related diploma or degree, or equivalent working experience, is required. Oh, and being chill is a huge bonus.

Salary will be negotiated based on relevant skills and experience.
