Function:
Assists with enforcement activities related to the Police Service's Automated Speed Enforcement Program
Accountabililty:
The Automated Speed Enforcement Technician is accountable to the Supervisor in the Community Programs and Safety unit.
Tasks:
Reviews all Automated Speed Enforcement Photographs, to ensure accuracy and violation.
Provides confirmation to Xerox of Canada of violations.
Utilizes the Canadian Police Information Center (CPIC) to confirm out-of province registered owners who have been photographed by the automated speed enforcement equipment utilized by the Moose Jaw Police Service.
Enters data to create and record Offence Notices for violations which have been captured and confirmed on the automated speed enforcement equipment utilized by the Moose Jaw Police Service.
Ensures Offence Notices are mailed to the Registered Owners.
Completes investigations, collects evidence, lays charges, compiles and submit reports, participates in prosecutions in relation to the automated speed enforcement equipment utilized by the Moose Jaw Police Service.
Completes additional training and assignments, as required.
Education:
Successful completion of Grade 12. Must meet Police Service Security Requirement
Critical:
Knowledge & Experience: ability to apply general office procedures; knowledge of, and experience with data processing software, Windows operating system and keyboarding. Knowledge of Court procedures and testifying.
Communication Skills: ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English; ability to listen, comprehend, record, and relay information accurately.
Cooperation: work willingly and constructively with peers, and supervisors in a team environment; relates to Police Service personnel and the community in obtaining their cooperation; and acts considerately of others and their opinion.
