We keep 3000+ colonies of honeybees in southwest Saskatchewan and southeast Alberta. Janeil Enterprises custom pollinates hybrid canola, produces honey, collects pollen and raises queens.
We are looking for candidates that have an interest in biology, bees and plants and someone who enjoys outdoor work. If you want to be more than labourer you will learn: Bee biology, hive management, equipment operation and maintenance. You will see the countryside from Consort to Kindersley to Medicine Hat and Bow Island moving bees and equipment. The work is heavy and at times, the hours are long but we all try to have fun. I expect an apt employee to learn enough in two or three seasons to be a self-employed beekeeper.
