The Vice-Dean, Medical Education in the College of Medicine plays a critical role in providing strategic guidance and advice to the Dean and the faculty on educational issues. The Vice-Dean oversees the planning, implementation, and administrative oversight for the medical education programs delivered to students enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and continuing education studies in the College of Medicine.
The Vice-Dean reports directly to the Dean, and is a member of the senior leadership team responsible for oversight and direction of the college. The Vice-Dean, Medical Education will maintain responsibility and influence over the undergraduate, graduate, and continuing medical education mission and strategy in the College. It will be important for the Vice-Dean to build and maintain strong working relationships with the College of Medicines Department Chairs, unified heads, program directors, and other relevant internal and external stakeholders. The Vice-Dean will also work to grow the College of Medicines medical education research initiatives including those pertaining to distributed medical education.
With an MD, and relevant experience in a senior level faculty or administrative position, you will have the qualifications and credibility to help guide and grow the Medical Education function at the College of Medicine. You will need to have experience in curriculum assessment and a strong grasp on future trends in both undergraduate and graduate medical education, along with continuing education studies. You will be responsible to meet the key core competencies of leadership, support for progress, results orientation, personal effectiveness, communication, and relationship building in order to succeed and excel as the Vice-Dean, Medical Education.
