The Vice-Dean, Research is the senior leader in the college for all research-related matters and will provide vision and leadership for the development and implementation of a comprehensive, integrated research plan for the College of Medicine.
The Vice-Dean reports directly to the Dean, and is a member of the senior leadership team responsible for oversight and direction of the college. The Vice-Dean Research will set overall direction for research in the college; advise the Dean and Vice-President Research on matters related to research; provide leadership in the recruitment of top tier researchers to the college; work collaboratively to strengthen inter-disciplinary, inter-professional and translational research; use influence to align research in the college with priorities in the university, healthcare system, and government; and model institutional values.
With an MD, MD/PhD or PhD, your credentials in research, teaching and administrative leadership give you the requisite qualifications and credibility to guide and grow this College of Medicine. You will need to be strategic, nimble and encourage partnerships within the Faculty, across the University as well as with the broader academic and clinical communities locally, provincially, nationally and internationally. Your ability to be an ambassador for the Saskatchewan community, open minds and raise performance levels will have long lasting effects on research, achievement and national and international reputation.
Salary to be commensurate with education: M.D. - $300-500K (dependent on specialty); Ph.D. - $150-250K.
