Churchill Community High School (CCHS) Day Care is a new Daycare facility. It is a non-profit provincially licensed childcare centre. The centre is licensed for infant, toddler and preschool spaces. The childcare centre is governed by a volunteer board of directors.
The suitable candidate will be able to perform the following duties:
- Deliver early learning and child care services in alignment with the Daycare philosophy
- Carry out the Policies and Procedures of the CCHS Day Care
- Knowledge in the principles and practises of the Play and Exploration Guide
- Maintain confidentiality of all families and staff at the daycare
- Maintain direct responsibility for the care and safety of the children attending Daycare
- Carry out developmentally appropriate programming for children in the Daycare
- Follow Daycare operational policies & procedures in the Staff Handbook & Policy Manual
- Work collaboratively with staff, students and board members to ensure a supportive environment
The suitable candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- Early Childhood Education Level 1, 2 or 3, or the commitment to take the necessary education towards the necessary level in an acceptable time limit
- Demonstrate knowledge of provincial licensing requirements
- Knowledge of computer programs
- Hold a valid First Aid/CPR level C certificate
- Demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills
- Demonstrate positive attitude and ability to work well with others
- Ability to speak an aboriginal language would be an asset
- Have a current (within the last 6 months) Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check
- The results of Child Abuse Record Check
- The results of a current TB Test
