We are currently seeking a full-time or part-time
legal assistant who will assist a lawyer primarily
in real estate, immigration, corporate, employment
and other related practices.
The duties involved in the position include:
-Preparation of correspondence and legal documents
such as wills, mortgages, contracts, statutory
declarations, applications, briefs and other
related documents
-transcribing legal documents from digital
recordings or handwritten notes
-reviewing and proofreading outgoing documents
-handling routine accounting records
-performing other office duties as required
The successful candidate must have over 1 year
pertinent experience in a private practice
settings, excellent verbal and written
communication skills, proofreading expertise, the
ability to work independently and as part of a
team, excellent organizational and time management
skills, ability to pay attention to detail and
maintain accuracy and the ability to take
initiative and anticipate the needs of the lawyer.
