This position, reporting to the Payroll Supervisor is an integral part of the payroll "team" in the Administration department by providing support service for the preparation of payroll for the school division.
Duties include responding to payroll inquiries; preparing manual payroll cheques and final payment sheets for all staff; preparing Records of Employment; reconciling payroll accounts; light typing and other duties as required.
Requirements for this position are a Grade 12 education. Payroll experience, basic understanding of accounting principles, accurate typing skills, general filing experience, and a knowledge of general office procedures are essential. Payroll experience in a school division and post-secondary education in Business Administration would be considered an asset.
He/she will show, through previous work experience, a demonstrated ability to manage a high-volume workload and ability to work well with others within a "team work" environment. A working knowledge and/or experience with computer payroll applications would be a definite asset.
