Description

The Canadian Light Source Inc. is currently recruiting a Communications Coordinator for a one-year term to assist in planning and implementing a series of communications activities to commemorate our 10th year of operations.  

Responsibilities: Reporting to the Public Relations and Marketing Manager, the Communications Coordinator will conduct corporate communication activities at the CLS, including writing and editing a range of written materials, including press releases, newsletters, science highlights, and other publications about science at CLS. This person will liaise extensively and build relationships with scientific staff and users to ensure the effective capture and dissemination of science success stories. Working collaboratively in a team environment, the Communications Coordinator also coordinates the production of marketing materials and organization of CLS presence at conferences and trade shows, working closely with the Industrial Science group.  The Communications Coordinator will also be heavily involved in organizing and coordinating events related to the commemoration of CLSs 10th year of operations.  

Qualifications: Applicants must possess a relevant undergraduate degree, preferably in communications or journalism, as well as 1-2 years related experience.  Event management experience is an asset, as is familiarity with the publication production process. Excellent written communications, interpersonal, and project management skills are required. Creativity and strong organization are two key attributes we are seeking in a successful candidate, as well as a strong aptitude or interest in science. Fluency is French is a definite asset.
