This Facility Operator is responsible for performing various duties related to the activities of the overall department. Including recreation and other recreation facilities in order to ensure clean, safe and healthy facilities are available; the physical capability to do the work, including, but not limited to: sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, working in cold arenas, bending, kneeling, reaching and squatting. The Facility Operator is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the ice surface, ice plant and arena building as well as the set up and takes down for public and private functions in the building. The Facility Operator estimates that 10 percent of his time is spent cleaning and maintaining the building, setting up and taking down for events and the remaining 90 percent of his time is spent on ice maintenance/Operation tasks.
Qualifications:
- Grade twelve (12) education an asset.
- Must have valid Drivers License.
- Must have steel-toed boots/shoes.
- Previous experience in performing the function of ice making and ice maintenance is an asset.
- Must be able to multitask in a fast paced environment and maintain an accurate quality of work.
- Ability to work with little supervision.
