Coteau Books is seeking an experienced Canadian publishing industry professional, to work out of its Regina office. The position is planned to begin in early 2015 as a training situation with the current managing editor; the publisher to assume full responsibilities of the position as of July 1. Coteau offers a competitive salary and benefits package.
Coteau Books is Saskatchewans leading literary publisher, having produced over 400 works of fiction, poetry, drama, regional and cultural non-fiction and childrens literature since its founding in 1975. Coteau, which is owned and managed by its 8-member board of directors, currently produces 12 titles per year, has contracted Canada, US and Australia distribution, and has an expanding repertoire of ebook titles that it markets to more than a dozen resellers. Coteaus main office is in Regina, and its five-member staff works via both head-office and home-office situations.
Minimum qualifications:
Several years experience working in the Canadian literary publishing environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience supervising staff
Experience in sales and/or marketing
Experience in a Mac environment, with good working knowledge of web-based communications tools and the Microsoft suite of office applications
