Position Summary: The Slurry Wall Mix Plan Operator will safely and effectively operate the mix plant and perform bentonite slurry mixing. Position is full time for 9 months maybe longer, depending on project duration plus employer paid per diem and travel expenses.  

Essential Functions:
Perform bentonite slurry wall mixing, safe batching procedures and bentonite slurry testing procedures.
Inspect and develop safe slurry mix plant procedures consistently to meet company needs and standards.
Troubleshoot problems that impact productivity and safety; bring to resolution.
Conduct pre-operation safety inspections, clean and lubricate equipment daily.
Routinely operate and perform routine maintenance on specialty equipment, i.e. fueling, greasing, oiling, etc.
Operate conveyance pumps to pump slurry.
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life according to all relevant policies and procedures.
Excavate, move and grade earth/aggregate and mix ingredients according to site specifications and within limitations of equipment in a safe and productive manner as determined by site construction conditions.

Qualifications:
3 years experience in slurry wall construction required.
Must possess a vast knowledge of all aspects of bentonite slurry mixing, including the safe operation of the mix plant, proper bentonite batching procedures as well as knowledge of bentonite slurry test procedures.
Ability to perform duties of equipment operator while working in all outdoor weather conditions
Availability to travel over extended periods of time on short notice required.
Must be able to operate 2-way radios and other communication equipment.
