Position Summary:
The Project Superintendent for Slurry Wall Construction will have full responsibility for line management of personnel and the implementation of slurry wall construction operations. Full time position for at least 9+ months.
Essential Functions:
Take responsibility for allocating and scheduling resources, site documentation, maintenance and managing personnel to perform their work safely and efficiently from start up to finish.
Manage the mixing, pumping and soil bentonite backfill materials to ensure quality and safety of slurry wall construction.
Work with the job-site Health and Safety Officer to understand and implement the company Behavior Based Safety Program (BBS) and job-site Health and Safety Program.
Supply pre-project planning input to the Job Safety Analysis process and frequent improvements and changes to the Job Safety Analysis Plan.
Operate heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner, when needed, in order to minimize the risk of injury, property damage or loss of life according to all relevant policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience, including a vast knowledge of all aspects of slurry wall construction including but not limited to mixing, pumping and controlling bentonite slurry; methods to properly mix and place soil bentonite backfill materials and slurry trench excavation procedures.
Knowledge and experience with material testing procedures for Quality Control purposes required.
Knowledge of specialty geotechnical construction equipment used for slurry wall construction, including extended hydraulic excavators, cranes with clams/chisels and more required.
High School diploma and/or GED required.
Proficiency in MS Office with strong communication skills required.
