Description

Prairie Valley School Division delivers educational services to over 8000 students in 39 schools throughout southeast Saskatchewan. We have an opportunity to join our team of professionals in the Transportation department.  We are currently seeking spare bus drivers in the following areas:

Balcarres
Broadview
Kipling
Lemberg
Lipton
Neudorf
Whitewood

Spare drivers fill in when permanent drivers are unable to run their routes, and also have frequent opportunities to drive for school sports, field trips and other school charter trips.  Becoming a spare driver is also a great way to gain experience and become eligible for permanent routes as vacancies arise.  Bus drivers can feel good every day about providing a service essential to the children and youth in rural Saskatchewan.  Our bus drivers work in a supportive work environment, driving modern buses equipped with up to date safety technology.

The preferred applicants will possess school bus driving experience, demonstrate safe driving practices, and have strong interpersonal and communication skills.  However, free training is provided to suitable applicants who do not yet possess their school bus endorsement.  Drivers may take their young children on the bus with them.

A CUPE Agreement is in effect.  Prairie Valley School Division supports the principles of a representative workforce and welcomes applications from all qualified candidates.  Applicants approved for training will be required to provide a clear criminal record check (including vulnerable sectors check) and a drivers abstract for the previous five years.
