Heavy Equipment Technician, Journeyperson
SMS Equipment is looking for a Heavy Equipment Technician to work in our Regina branch. Reporting to the Service Supervisor, our Heavy Equipment Technicians maintain, repair, and rebuild heavy equipment at the shop in a safe, efficient, and capable manner.
There are 2 vacancies for this position: one position is based primarily in the field, the second position is both shop and field.
Duties included, but not limited to:
Make recommendations regarding the extent of repairs and suggest methods of improvement.
Repair the equipment in a timely and financially responsible manner.
Think logically and keep up with changes in technology.
Interpret work orders and technical manuals.
Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety.
Be motivated and able to work in a challenging environment with minimal supervision.
Qualifications
HET (Off Road) Journeyman certification
Interprovincial Red Seal is preferred
Construction, forestry, and heavy equipment repair experience.
Experience working with Komatsu equipment is an asset
Have a strong awareness and attitude towards workplace health and safety
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
