Job Description:
Providing cost analysis and reports to measure actual to planned job progress.
Working with project Management to determine job percentage of completion.
Analyzing SG&A and over/under accounts.
Analyzing job margins variance reports and cost reports.
Preparing month end adjustments and accruals.
Analyzing revenue is excess of billings.
Reviewing and sign off of unbilled margin reports.
Setting up and maintain job specific billing rate tables.
Month end forecasting, financial reporting and revenue recognition.
Responsible for the tracking and calculating of job cost accounting and reporting for major projects.
Preparing client invoices/billings according to contract terms and requirements.
Tracking and calculating operating costs.
Producing trend and variance reports.
Providing knowledge and understanding of sales agreements and contracts.
Supervising the Job Cost Administrators and Junior Project Accountants.
Supporting Operations Management and Finance Manager as required
Job Requirements:
Post - Secondary diploma or certification from accredited college or technical business school.
Working towards a professional accounting designation
A minimum of 5 years of related and progressive accounting experience including: job costing, financial analysis and financial reporting.
Previous experience with construction, manufacturing, and or trucking industries would be a definite asset
Superior organizational and communication skills
Ability to deal with change in a fast-paced environment
Excellent customer service skills, both internal and external
Ability to work independently and with a team
Able to multi-task, adaptable and adhere to deadlines
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office
Advanced Excel experience (asset)
Proficiency with computerized accounting software programs
JD Edwards would be a definite asset
