Description

POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Working within the safety, health, environment, quality and regulatory relations (SHEQ) department, you will provide support for regulatory affairs issues and work to develop Camecos responses to provincial and federal regulatory initiatives that affect the broader corporate interests.

You will play an influential role by participating in industry committees, working groups or task forces, such as those established by the Canadian Nuclear Association or the Saskatchewan Mining Association that have identified potential concerns and are working to develop a response or proposal for legislative reform.  

You will also provide support to the Director, Legal Services, SHEQ, Regulatory Relations and Corporate Responsibility focused on researching legal issues that arise in relation to the provincial and federal regulatory requirements.  

This is a temporary full-time position for approximately 13 months.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS

Requirements of the position:
    Bachelors degree in law
    Five or more years of relevant work experience
    Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered
    Familiarity with the applicable federal and provincial regulatory regimes, including the federal nuclear regime as well as the federal and provincial environmental assessment, occupational health and safety and environmental protection regimes
    Excellent communication and decision-making skills, including written advocacy

Assets:
    Advanced degree in an applicable field
    Two or more years directly related industry experience
