Applications are invited for the position of a Full-Time Temporary Counselling Consultant with duties commencing as soon as can be mutually agreed upon and concluding June 26, 2015.
Reporting to the Coordinator of Integrated School Services, the successful applicant will provide counselling services to children, youth, and families with health, social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The Counselling Consultant will also be an advocate for young people and serve as a liaison for students and their families with school personnel and/or other community or provincial agencies.
In addition the consultant will develop and implement strength based data driven interventions that support the growth and development of children and youth.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Possess a Bachelors or Masters degree in Social Work or Psychology, with a focus on counselling.
Experience in counselling children and youth
Experience working in the learning sector within a collaborative-consultative model would be a definite asset
Possess a valid drivers license
The hours of work will normally be 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, and will roughly cover the academic year for schools. Travel throughout the region will be involved.
