Reporting to the Electrical Supervisor, the Electrical or Electronic Engineering Technologist is responsible for the maintenance and troubleshooting of underground automation systems, underground networks, phones, and radio and camera systems. This position works with the electrical engineering department on the designing and installation of new projects, and is responsible for troubleshooting technical problems.
The successful candidate will be a highly-motivated individual with Grade 12 supplemented with an Electrical or Electronic Systems Engineering Technology Diploma. The incumbent will have one to three years of related experience, or equivalent education/experience in a mining or construction setting. Experience with PLC, Cisco Networking, and working in a mining environment would be an asset. Strong communication, organizational and interpersonal skills are required.
The successful candidate may be required to undergo a background check. All safety sensitive positions require a substance test in accordance with PotashCorp policy.
