Description

The 2nd Class Power Engineer is responsible for the operation and general maintenance of equipment in the plant. The person ensures that the quality and product standards are met, the safety and housekeeping requirements are adhered and the administrative tasks are addressed by performing the following duties:

1.    Equipment Operation:
    Operates various process controls and machinery and makes adjustments as required to maintain the process or control problems.
    Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly and makes adjustments where necessary to ensure that the product is meeting established standards.  
    Follows standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, safety and quality standards are being met to achieve corporate and plant goals and objectives.
    Solves and troubleshoots operating problems and notifies supervisor of any problems.
    Provides information and direction to other Operators as necessary to ensure smooth operations throughout the Plant.

2.    General Equipment Maintenance:
    Maintains equipment and machines and performs minor repairs and preventative maintenance when required.

3.    Quality Assurance and Product Standards:
    Samples product and receives results from the Quality Assurance Lab to make necessary corrective adjustments.  
    Performs quality assurance tests on the product in process using testing instruments.

4.    Safety and Housekeeping:
    Follows all safety and health requirements in the plant.
    Trained participant of the TGF Fire and Rescue Teams.
    Ensures sanitation and food safety requirements are maintained.
    Maintains cleanliness & appearance of the Plant and Control Room.
    Provides feedback on any areas of deficiency.

5.    Administrative:
    Records production information on daily shift reports and identifies any problems associated with production.
    Assists in training of new employees in the plant
