Reporting to the Safety and Training Manager, the Certified Driver Trainer is a full time position focusing on providing training and mentorship to newly hired drivers in the Novice Driver (ND) and International/Foreign Driver (FW) categories. The position will develop the required skills to handle equipment and road conditions safely and efficiently.

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
Mentor employees on life at Westcan (and Canada when applicable)
Promote an Actively Caring approach to all duties
Demonstrate and explain the function, handling and mechanical operation of power units and product specific trailers
Illustrate driver responsibilities for cost effective operation of equipment
Comply with, understand and be able to explain the Department of Transportation (DOT) and internal company procedures, rules and regulations
Complete and coordinate necessary paperwork such as training records and weekly progress reports
As required, complete road test evaluations, SMITH training, perform Job Observations, Safe Behavior Observations, Competency Assessments
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
The successful Certified Driver Trainer:
will be paid a competitive  salary depending on experience
will receive the full-time uniform and boot allowance voucher ($350)

is hired under the rules of the Commercial Vehicle Operators Act and thus will be classed in the 60-hours of productive work time per week (OT payable after 60 hours in a week)
