Description

Position Summary:
Responsible for performing QA assays, applying and maintaining specifications, assisting in the validation of analytical methods and writing standard operating procedures.  
Benefit package after 3 months probation: disability, dental, extended medical and pension plan.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
-    Analyze product, raw materials and packaging materials using techniques of a microbiology, biochemistry and physical chemistry nature.
-    Provide second review of validation and laboratory data.
-    Facilitate quality investigations and report appropriately
-    Troubleshoot and maintain analytical instruments, perform operational qualification of lab and production quality verification equipment.
-    Maintain a clean, organized laboratory environment.
-    Generate reports as required.
-    Participate in sensory analyses of in-process materials and finished products.
Job Requirements:
-    Bachelors Degree in Biochemistry or Microbiology or Food Sciences or
-    SIAST Biological Sciences Diploma
-    Masters Degree in Food Science an asset
-    Accredited course in Brewing and Fermentation technology.
-    Applied skills in HACCP , Six Sigma or another Food Safety System .
-    Experience in a food manufacturing environment involving quality management and process control
-    Training and experience in Food Sensory Analyses.
-    Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.  
-    Ability to write routine reports and correspondences.  Ability to speak effectively before employees of our organization.
-    Has knowledge of internet software including spreadsheets and word processing software.
-    Self-starter, high degree of personal integrity, able to multi task, team player, quality and safety conscious.
-    Detail oriented
-    Able to work shift work.
-    Physically fit and able to lift 40 lbs.
-    Bilingual ability is an asset.
