Description

FCL invites applications for the position of Senior Payroll Technician in our home office located in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Senior Payroll Technician is responsible for:
1.Submit, verify and correct EFT transfers daily as required.
2.Maintain current knowledge of payroll regulations. Assist Reporting retails, COIN retails and FCL corporate staff as required with questions relative to the payroll system and payroll issues.
3.Prepare WCB quarterly and annual remittances as required for Corporate payroll.
4.Follow up and clear error notifications received from the Co-operators following each biweekly upload submission.
5.Provide coverage for Retail Accounting and Corporate Payroll Senior Payroll Clerks during periods when they are away.
6.Ensure that all payroll remittances are completed accurately and within deadlines.
7.Schedule and run all required year end jobs and reports including annual vacation allocations and T4s.
8.Handle T4 amendments and follow up on PIER reports received from CRA.
9.Assist other payroll staff as required to meet department deadlines. Maintain department files as required.
10.Assist with the set up of retails on the payroll system and procedures for amalgamation and closures of Co-operative retails.
11.Other duties as assigned.

The successful candidate will posses a University degree in Commerce with an accounting major or a professional accounting designation with a minumum of one (1) year of payroll experience or a post-secondary diploma in accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution with a minimum of three (3) years of related payroll experience.
