Description

The Gas Controller controls the transportation and storage of natural gas on the TransGas system on a 24/7 basis, for the continuity of services, including the safe, reliable and cost effective system operation, by monitoring, interpreting, analyzing, evaluating, communicating, controlling and managing the system flow requirements.  The Gas Controller also monitors other facilities including SaskEnergy, Many Islands Pipe Line, Bayhurst Gas and Heritage Gas. The Gas Controller is the key link between Gas Control, TransGas and SaskEnergy field staff, customer plant sites and interconnecting pipelines.

Qualifications

Education:


Grade 12 or equivalent.
Engineering Technology Diploma (Instrumentation, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Petroleum, CAD) from a recognized institution OR
Provincial or Interprovincial Journeyperson in one of the following trades:
  Industrial Instrument Mechanic Certificate;    
  Electrician Certificate;
  Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) Certificate.

Eligible for membership with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technicians and Technologists (SASTT).

Experience:

Four (4) years experience directly involved in the operation and maintenance of storage, compression and transmission facilities.
