Job Responsibilities:
Compliance
Ensure compliance with legislative bodies such as WCB / OH&S, Human Rights, etc.
Maintaining COR in Construction Industry
Assist with Drug and Alcohol enforcement
Assist with Site First Aid requirements
WCB
Assist in WCB Claims for Alberta
Communicate concerns with Health & Safety Coordinator as needed
Coordinate or take the injured employees to OIS Clinics
Maintain effective injury tracking and reporting to Health & Safety Officer
Modified Duties
Ensure modified duties are offered to injured Employees as per specified guidelines
Work with Health and Safety Officer and OIS to ensure modified duties are in place
Zero Injury Campaign
Assist in Zero Injury Campaign tracking
Ensure compliance, collect and track monthly results for all regions
Health & Safety Meetings
Coordinate Health & Safety Meetings & Site Safety / Toolbox Meetings via conference call or in person
Research
Conduct research using regulations and legislation and provide details as required for Health & Safety issues
Documentation
Orientation of new personnel and sub trades
Compilation of all documents related to Health and Safety
Maintenance of Statistical data, generating reports
Ensure all work-related / non-work related information is entered into online system and filed appropriately
Maintain MSDS Database
Maintain Job Hazard Analysis all positions / regions
Other duties as assigned
Educational/Experience Required:
Occupational Health and Safety Certificate Program or related education an asset
Previous claims experience an asset
4+ years related experience within an Health and Safety in Construction environment
