RECREATION COORDINATOR
The Kinistin Saulteaux Nation seeks to hire an energetic and enthusiastic individual as their community Recreation Coordinator.
Under the direction of the Office Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:
* Planning, promoting, and implementing recreation activities based on the needs and interests of the KSN membership
* HOURS WILL BE EVENINGS AND WEEKENDS
* Planning, promoting, and implementing sport skill development clinics for youth attending the Kinistin Education Center
* Ensuring that Kinistin youth are prepared for, and attend, all clinics, try-outs and practices scheduled for the Summer and Winter Games
* Working with Education and Health staff to coordinate activities for students, community members and staff
* Developing partnerships with staff and coaches at Tisdale Middle and Secondary School, and working with Kinistin parents, to enable Kinistin youth to participate in team sports in Tisdale
* Attending STC Recreation meetings and ensuring that information is provided to community members, staff and Chief and Council
* Maintaining links with Saskatchewan Parks and Recreation Association to access information on services and grants available for Kinistin First Nation
* Researching and applying for sponsorship and grants for community activities and events as the Kinistin Saulteaux Nation Recreation Program is proposal driven
* Ensuring all materials, supplies and equipment are ordered, accounted for and kept secure.
QUALIFICATIONS
* A diploma from a recognized education institute in recreation or leisure studies or a related field
* Valid driver's license
* Criminal Records Check needs to be conviction free
* Coaching experience
* Demonstrate ability in a particular recreation, sports or fitness discipline
* Experience working with First Nations people and an understanding of issues encountered by First Nations people
