The Vocational Evaluator is responsible for determining the level of skills and abilities for vocational planning. Duties include:
- Planning, overseeing, and carrying out the day-to-day operations of the Vocational Evaluation Department.
- Administering to individuals, a variety of standardized and non-standardized testing materials, including utilizing specialized assessment equipment.
- Marking, scoring and interpreting all testing materials to determine the individuals level of skills and abilities.
- Preparing comprehensive written vocational evaluation reports.
- Debriefing results of the vocational evaluation with the client, referral agency and other relevant parties.
- Preparing statistical reports to track results of vocational evaluation services.
- Developing a working knowledge of all available rehabilitation resources in Saskatoon.
- Building and maintaining working relationships with referral sources.
- Marketing vocational evaluation services.
- Participating in mobile vocational assessment clinics conducted throughout the province as requested by referral agencies.
- May on occasion be required to work outside of regular working hours
Qualifications:
Education:
- University degree in education, psychology, social work, or related field Masters level preferred
Experience:
- Minimum of three to five years of experience in this or a related field
Skills:
- Experience working with people of varying abilities - Strong writing skills, report preparation and presentation skills
- Effective time management and organization skills - Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
- Knowledge and understanding of vocational issues as they related to persons with varying abilities - Valid Class 5 drivers license and use of a personal vehicle The final candidates are required to provide satisfactory police record checks
