As a member of a multi-disciplinary team within the Youth Program, the Social Worker provides mental health services to youth who are exhibiting social/emotional/behavioural difficulties and to their families. The Social Worker assesses youth and their families, creates intervention plans, provides therapy to individuals, families and through groups provides consultation to other agencies involved with family members, and refers clients to other appropriate services. Periodically, the Social Worker also assists with program planning and may participate in interagency committee work, community development, and/or clinical supervision of practicum students.
Required Qualifications
Masters Degree in in Social Work
Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Association of Social Workers (SASW)
Degree with a focus on clinical work and supervised clincial expereince with youth and families. Demonstrated ability to establish effective working relationships with high-risk youth and families. Demonstrated knowldege of adolescence in the life cycle, family systems theory, attachment theory, addicitons issues affecting mental health in adolescence
