QUALIFICATIONS: MUST HAVE
-BISW or BSW with at least one year experience in child and family services;
-Knowledge of the FSIN Indian Child Welfare and Family Support Act and Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act;
RESPONSIBLITIES:
-Responsible for providing family services to all children living on reserve. This includes investigating reports of child abuse, neglect & abandonment. Placing children in need of protection with alternate caregivers, provide counselling & support services.
-Maintain a caseload of off-reserve membership clientele and perform daily case management activities as required.
-Responsible for advocating for off-reserve clientele
-Locating potential extended family members for children in care
-Providing on-going training or educational services to caregivers.
-Monitoring each child placement
-Responsible for providing a range of family support services ie: crisis intervention services, counselling, arranging assessment & treatment services, group counselling, etc,
-Responsible for development of prevention & educational services etc.
Must abstain from alcohol and drugs for at least 2 years.
