Under the direction of the Deputy Commissioner of Emergency Communications Sask911, Emergency Management and Fire Safety, Government Relations and/or their designate, the out of scope GIS Technician functions as a team member, under the delegated authority of the Technical Services Manager, supporting the work of the Provincial Emergency Communications Centre (PECC) and Sask911.
The GIS Technician is responsible for maintaining the GIS and address database of the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system ensuring content is accurate and current within the Province of Saskatchewan. Ancillary functions may include assistance in providing technological support for the CAD and Information Management System (IMS) as well as to provide support to other major initiatives of Emergency Management and Fire Safety as well as the Ministry of Government Relations.
Position Requirements:
-Technical Diploma in Geomatics/GIS and five years of related experience is required. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
-5 years of experience in spatial analysis, cartography, web mapping, and mobile technologies using ESRI software suite (ArcGIS) and Intergraph software suite (GeoMedia).
-5 years of experience in ESRI ArcServer and ArcSDE.
-Working knowledge of SQL Server and Python programming language.
