Description

Nurse's position available to care for high needs children and youth in a home like environment. The position available is currently  night positions and is 12 hour shifts in a four week rotation.

Major Responsibilities and Key Activities
*Provide medical care within the full scope of practice as is outlined for Licensed Practical Nurses
*Offer direct nursing care for medically fragile children
*Offer direct nursing care for complex medical, nursing and intervention therapies due to disabilities and/or chronic diseases
*Provide a holistic approach of health and healing along with nursing care for medically fragile children.
*Assist in physical assessments of children
*Administer medications; gastric tube feeds
*Monitor and administer tracheotomy care
*Monitor and manage oxygen saturation and ventilator equipment
*Develop and manage nursing care plans for medically fragile children
*Advocate on behalf of the health care needs of medically fragile children

Qualifications, Skills & Abilities:

Completion of Diploma in Nursing.
Related training in the area of children with special needs.
Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with a variety of behavioral and physical disorders, as well as children with diverse needs.
