Sask Polytechnic Faculty Association (Formerly, SIAST Faculty Association, SFA) represents approximately 1600 members across four campuses (Moose Jaw, Prince Albert, Regina, & Saskatoon).
1. POSITION DUTIES:
- Providing services to members in the interpretation and application of the collective agreement, employer policies and relevant statutes and legislation
- Researching, compiling and composing information on labour relations issues
- Preparing and presenting topical educational material relative to Labour Relations
- Meeting and communicating with various stakeholders (Faculty members, HR representatives, and Deans/Managers) to discuss information and/or review staff related issues
- Assists with the process of resolving grievances and disputes
- Committee work includes participating as a member of a number of committees as assigned
- Represents the Association by attending meetings as required
2. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Preferred Degree or Diploma in Human Resources Management (other combinations of education and experience will be considered)
- 1-3 years' experience in Human Resources administration preferred
- Ability to manage and resolve conflict
- Must have some understanding of negotiation and arbitration
- Ability to research and analyze delicate Human Resources/Labour Relations problems and recommend solutions
- Interviewing skills, evidencing empathic listening, problem identification and solution development
- Research and analytical skills for gathering and presenting information in support of collective bargaining
C. PERTINENT INFORMATION:
- Extensive travel to various campuses/locations throughout the region
- Must have a reliable vehicle, and valid drivers' licence
- Location: Moose Jaw or Regina
- Starting salary range: $45,000 to $55,000 commensurate with experience
