Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Information Technology, this position is broad in nature and will have the opportunity to work on innovative new projects.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Work as a project lead to develop and implement hardware and software solutions that integrate into existing and proposed infrastructure
- Provide technical leadership and support to IT team members
- Provide support to STC staff, agencies, and clients throughout the province
- Monitor, optimize, and report on networks and systems to ensure reliability and availability
- Liaise with outside organizations as necessary
- Research and assist in hardware and software procurement
- Build and configure servers in a virtual and physical environment
- Prepare hardware, software, and procedural documentation
Qualifications
- Computer Science degree or IT related diploma from a recognized post-secondary institution with at least five years experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may also be considered.
- CCNA, MCSE: Server Infrastructure, or MSCE: Desktop Infrastructure certification is preferred
- ITIL, CISSP, and ISP designations would be an asset
- Strong understanding of networking concepts and protocols
- Microsoft Active Directory experience, including GPO, DNS, and DHCP management
- Excellent working knowledge of Windows Server products
- Project management experience or training
- Familiarity with change management processes
