General Accountability
The Office Support Clerk will provide office support in the Meadow Lake Industrial Career Centre located in Meadow Lake, SK. The Office Support Clerk is responsible for overseeing administrative support and office services for SIIT on a casual basis. This includes coordinating and communicating office activities, reception duties, shipping and receiving, supplies and stationery, and general troubleshooting.
Specific Accountabilities
1. Client Service
Answer and direct incoming calls, receive visitors, and relay messages
Strong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization
Knowledge of the functions, purposes and programs of SIIT to answer routine inquiries.
2. Administration
Performs office administration duties such as typing, photocopying, faxing, filing and others as assigned
Assists in the coordination and administration of incoming and outgoing mail
Record daily student call-ins
Performs other general duties as assigned
3. Relationship Management
Works closely with other staff to ensure an organized and effective working environment
Demonstrates openness and respect for the opinions and ideas of others
Maintains cooperative relationships throughout the organization
Demonstrates a pleasant and professional manner when meeting with the public and SIIT stakeholders
Required QUALIFICATIONS and EXPERIENCE
A diploma or certificate in basic secretarial/office management combined with at least one year of related experience is required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered. Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Access, Excel, Power Point, and Outlook. Knowledge of a First Nation language or culture is preferred.
